Main article: Farms.

Aquatic Farmhouses are in the Food (Building Group) icon.png Food (Building Group). They employ Workers icon.png farmers to plant and harvest aquatic crops. These are specific to the Folktails icon.png Folktails. They are Cattail (Crop) icon.png Cattail and Spadderdock (Crop) icon.png Spadderdock Crops icon.png Crops.

👀 Note: It is advisable to first get Badtide management in place before using Aquatic Farmhouses. You don't want Beavers or crops in Contaminated water.

Usage

Although they plant and harvest crops in water, Aquatic Farmhouses must be placed above water. Workers do not work in a Flooded Building icon.png Flooded building. You can construct the building next to a wet area, or above a wet location such as a flooded area, a lake, or a river. Wooden Stairs icon.png Wooden Stairs, Slope icon.png Slopes, or Zipline Station icon.png Ziplines must be available for the farmers to descend into the water to work.

Crops

These crops' yields are inedible Ingredients icon.png Ingredients requiring processing to produce Food icon.png Food.

Spadderdock icon.png Spadderdock is processed by Grill icon.png Grills. Grills require a small but steady supply of Logs. One spadderdock produces three Grilled Spadderdock icon.png Grilled Spadderdocks.

Cattail Root icon.png Cattail Roots are ground into Cattail Flour icon.png Cattail Flour in Gristmill icon.png Gristmills before being baked. Gristmills require Power icon.png Power to run, and Gear icon.png Gears to construct. One root results in one flour. The flour is baked into Cattail Cracker icon.png Cattail Crackers in Bakery icon.png Bakeries, with one cattail flour producing four cattail crackers. Like all baked goods, Log icon.png Logs are consumed while baking. This is a lot of infrastructure and research, but sometimes implementing badtide management is also a lot of infrastructure. Once that is in place, the colony might be close to ready for this production chain. The reward is a lot of crackers for low-intensity farming.
