This page is about the Needs and Status applied to beavers when exposed to Badwater. For contaminated land, see Contaminated Terrain.

Contaminated icon.png Contamination is an Injury icon.png Injury, one of Beavers icon.png Beavers' Basic Needs. When Beavers are contaminated, they cannot work, but still consume Food icon.png Food and Water icon.png Water, and occupy Housing icon.png Housing. Contamination is not contagious.

Cause

When a Beaver travels through Fluids icon.png Badwater or polluted Water, there is a chance they become Unwell icon.png Unwell. The risk of Contamination increases proportionally with the pollution level of the water. Bot icon.png Bots cannot become contaminated by Badwater exposure.

Progression

Being unwell progresses into becoming Contaminated icon.png Contaminated after three days.

Treatment

Main articles: Decontamination Pod and Herbalist.

Beavers can recover over time by one of two methods, depending on their Factions icon.png Faction.

Folktails icon.png Folktails are treated by consuming Antidote icon.png Antidote. It takes eight antidotes to be cured. Contaminated Beavers consume two antidotes a day.

Iron Teeth icon.png Iron Teeth are treated by paddling in Decontamination Pod icon.png Decontamination Pods, which consume Extract icon.png Extract and Power icon.png Power. It takes two days in a Pod to fully recover, and each Pod supports one Beaver. Beavers' Exhaustion icon.png Sleep and Housing icon.png Shelter needs do not decay while using a Decontamination Pod, but they still need to take breaks to consume Food icon.png Food and Water icon.png Water. To minimize recovery time, place Decontamination Pods near stores of Food and Water.
