Efficient Farmhouse

Efficient Farmhouses are in the Food (Building Group). They employ farmers to plant and harvest these crops: Carrot (Crop), Potato (Crop), Wheat (Crop) and Sunflower (Crop).

Types of Crops

There are two foods that can be eaten raw, Carrots and Sunflower Seeds, and two that must first be processed, Potatoes and Wheat.

Potato (Crop)	6	1 Potato	Grill requiring Logs and 1 Worker to give 4 Grilled Potatoes	Requires: research, which may take some time, and a steady supply of logs, which may require mature tree farms tended by Foresters and Lumberjacks. However, the reward is Po-ta-toes!
Wheat (Crop)	10	3 Wheat	Gristmill requiring 1 Worker and 60 hp of Power, and Bakery requiring 1 Worker and Logs, to give 15 Bread	Lots of research, infrastructure, and processing time. However, the reward is lots of bread! Once you also have a large farm of Maple Trees being tended by a Tapper's Shack, wheat can also be used to make Maple Pastries.

Strategies

When space is limited and food supply is tight, the maximum efficiency for food per plot comes from Wheat. See Crops for a comparison.
