Efficient Farmhouse icon.png Efficient Farmhouses Unique to the Folktails faction are in the Food (Building Group) icon.png Food (Building Group). They employ Workers icon.png farmers to plant and harvest these crops: Carrot (Crop) icon.png Carrot (Crop), Potato (Crop) icon.png Potato (Crop), Wheat (Crop) icon.png Wheat (Crop) and Sunflower (Crop) icon.png Sunflower (Crop).

Types of Crops

Main article: Crops.

There are two foods that can be eaten raw, Carrot icon.png Carrots and Sunflower Seeds icon.png Sunflower Seeds, and two that must first be processed, Potatoes icon.png Potatoes and Wheat icon.png Wheat.

Crop Days to mature Yield Processing the yield Notes
Carrot (Crop) icon.png Carrot (Crop) 4 3 Carrot icon.png Carrots Edible as is. Plant, grow, harvest, eat. It doesn't get any simpler than this. They are, however, farmer-intensive.

Potato (Crop) icon.png Potato (Crop) 6 1 Potato icon.png Potato Grill icon.png Grill requiring Log icon.png Logs and 1 Workers icon.png Worker to give 4 Grilled Potato icon.png Grilled Potatoes Requires:
  • research, which may take some time, and
  • a steady supply of logs, which may require mature tree farms tended by Forester icon.png Foresters and Workers icon.png Lumberjacks.

However, the reward is Po-ta-toes!

Wheat (Crop) icon.png Wheat (Crop) 10 3 Wheat icon.png Wheat Gristmill icon.png Gristmill requiring 1 Worker and 60 hp of Power icon.png Power, and Bakery icon.png Bakery requiring 1 Worker and Logs, to give 15 Bread icon.png Bread Lots of research, infrastructure, and processing time. However, the reward is lots of bread! Once you also have a large farm of Maple icon.png Maple Trees icon.png Trees being tended by a Tapper's Shack icon.png Tapper's Shack, wheat can also be used to make Maple Pastry icon.png Maple Pastries.

Strategies

  • When space is limited and food supply is tight, the maximum efficiency for food per plot comes from Wheat. See Crops for a comparison.
