Housing is a tool group as well as a building category. Houses are Buildings icon.png Buildings that satisfy Sleep and Shelter. The Iron Teeth icon.png Iron Teeth also have two types of Breeding Pod icon.png Breeding Pods as part of this tool group that aren't described here.
👀 Note: Housing plays an important role in Breeding.

Characteristics

The Folktails icon.png Folktails construct simple Double Lodge icon.png Lodges that each shelter a small number of beavers for their size. A lodge containing at least 2 beavers with sufficiently met Needs and at least one vacant space has a chance for a new kit to be born.

The Iron Teeth icon.png Iron Teeth build Large Barrack icon.png Barracks and Rowhouse icon.png Rowhouses with dense populations, housing a few more beavers than the Folktails' design. Unlike their rivals, the Iron Teeth require separate Breeding Pod icon.png Breeding Pods to breed new kits.

While mainly providing shelter for the Beavers, houses transmit Horsepower icon.png power to and from adjacent workplaces and power sources. These houses are also Wooden Platforms icon.png Solid, allowing the construction of other buildings on their roofs.

Strategies

Rowhouses are taller and narrower than Barracks. For the price of one barrack, you could build two rowhouses, save two blocks of footprint, and house the same number of Beavers.

The footprint of large rowhouses is the same as that of Rowhouses at 2x1 tiles, but Large Rowhouses are one block taller. This means they house more Beavers in the same footprint.

Double and Triple Lodges can be built in one-unit deep Fluids icon.png Fluids without Flooded Building icon.png flooding. They only flood when the fluid rises above their entrance level.
