Overhangs

Overhangs are a category of Buildings icon.png Buildings introcduced in Update 6 of Timberborn.

Overhangs allow the creation of vertical structures that on top of other structures with a gap, instead of having to build over existing structures.

Overhangs also allow for layered Fluids icon.png Fluids.

Construction

  • Path icon.png Paths and non-ground-only Buildings icon.png buildings can be built on top of overhangs. Paths can also be built underneath overhangs.
  • The tip of the overhang can be inside the legs of a Platform icon.png Platform.
  • Overhangs can be built on top of other Wooden Platforms icon.png Solid buildings such as Platform icon.png Platforms, other Overhang 2x1 icon.png Overhangs, Dam icon.png Dams, Levee icon.png Levees, etc.
  • Straight Power Shaft icon.png Power Shafts can be built on top of and underneath overhangs.
  • Overhangs are 1 block taller than the surrounding terrinan, so may require Wooden Stairs icon.png Stairs.

Materials

Overhangs require Log icon.png Logs, Plank icon.png Planks, and Metal Block icon.png Metal Blocks to build. The number of Metal Blocks required is equal to double length of the Overhang, and the number of Log icon.png Logs and Plank icon.png Planks required is equal to five times the length (except for the Overhang 6x1 icon.png Overhang 6x1, which requires 5 times the length plus one).
