Trivia

• Bell ringing for timekeeping is thought to have originated in ancient China. From there, it spread throughout Asia and eventually to Europe.
• Do you hear ringing in your ears? This is called tinnitus. It gets its name from the onomatopoetic word meaning the ringing of bells: tintinnabulation. This word came to English from the Latin word for ringing bells: tintinnare. Did this ring any bells for you?
