Advantages
As of Update 7, Folktails have advantage over
Iron Teeth in the following aspects:
Food
- Folktails have more efficient farming, with their unique Efficient Farmhouse, Beehive, crops and trees. The Aquatic Farmhouse also has better yields than planting
Mangrove Fruits. - Their food processing chains are less complex and for the most part do not require
power. The only exception is the Gristmill. - Their Contamination Barrier allows them to utilize partially/temporally
Contaminated Terrain for farming without requiring inland irrigation.
Industrial
- Folktails' early game Water Wheel produces more Power per cms. In late game, they have windmills, which grants access to sustainable Power once combined with
Gravity Batteries. This requires neither workforce nor fuel to maintain and is scalable with access to enough space. - Their
Timberbots only cost transportable goods to maintain, which only requires
Haulers and storage to supply over long distances.
Population & Housing
- Folktails population is directly determined by the available housing. Building/pausing Lodges can strictly control the maximum population, but the effective population lags due to natural reproduction or death cycles.
- The Double Lodge and Triple Lodge allows the utilizing of one-deep water for housing land.
Space and transportation
- With the Underground Pile, their industrial storage is significantly more compact.
- Their Ziplines are easier to construct.
Others
- Their Large Water Pump and Badwater Rig are more efficient, both workforce-wise and space-wise.
