The Scavenger Flag icon.png Scavenger Flag has a single worker slot for a scavenger to scavenge Scrap Metal icon.png Scrap Metal from Ruins icon.png Ruins. They cannot interact with Underground Ruins icon.png Underground Ruins, which are for mining buildings.

The Scrap Metal can be processed into Metal Block icon.png Metal Blocks in Smelter icon.png Smelters.

Construction

The Scavenger Flag requires no materials to construct. It cannot operate if flooded.

Range

The Scavenger Flag icon.png Scavenger Flag range is 40x41 tiles, centered on the flag. This displays as an outline when selecting or placing the flag. The flag's range must overlap some Ruins to be effective.

Scavenging

Scavengers do not require Path icon.png Paths to access the Ruins. They scavenge at ground level, decreasing the height of the column until it is depleted. When the flag inventory fills, the scavenger attempts to transport Scrap Metal to valid Storage icon.png Storage. This transportation reduces the efficiency of the flag. With sufficient haulers and Storage, scavengers work full-time unless they have Needs. If they cannot empty the inventory, scavengers stand idle at the entrance of the flag.

When they deplete all Ruins within their range, they idle with a status message of Nothing to do in range.
