Maps in Timberborn are created with
Terrain Blocks. Maps can be reshaped in-game within the map's initial horizontal size until hitting the indestructible layer at the bottom or the highest possible ground elevation level.
Current ground elevation limits are:
- During map creation - 16 tiles
- In-game - 22 tiles total (with 11 more tiles reserved for vertical building.
Terrain can be removed in 3 ways:
Dynamite/
Double Dynamite/
Triple Dynamite produced by
Explosives Factories and
Centrifuge and laid by
Builders working from
District Center/
Builders' Huts.
Tunnel produced by
Explosives Factory,
Centrifuge and lumbermill and laid by
Builders working from
District Center/
Builders' Huts.
Dirt Excavators, which require Workers,
Power. They produce
Dirt but are suboptimal for reducing terrain elevation.
Terrain can be added by
Builders working from
Builders' Huts, They can construct
Terrain Blocks from six
Dirt. The newly added Terrain Blocks behave the same as pre-existing terrain regarding irrigation, water physics interactions, growing plants, constructing ground-only buildings, and so on.
Fluid sources cannot be altered or added.
