Category:Food
Food are edible Goods. Food keeps
Beavers alive by satisfying their
Hunger and preventing them from
Starving to death. It promotes their Well-Being by meeting their Nutrition Needs. There are several exceptions.
Berries only satisfy hunger, and do not satisfy any needs. This means Beavers don't eat Berries when there alternatives. The other is
Coffee
, which doesn't satisfy hunger and satisfies a need. This means Beavers crave coffee regularly, regardless of their hunger levels.
Food is imperishable and is stored in Warehouses, except
Coffee, which is a liquid and stored in
Tanks.

Initial Food
Some foods do not require processing. These can be used in the early game. Other foods require Buildings from the
Food tool group to process
Ingredients. Some of these buildings require
Power.

Mechanics
Hungry Beavers select their next meal based on their Nutrition Needs. Beavers consume 2.67 units of food daily on average to sate their hunger.
Sunflower Seeds sate their Need (NOT Hunger!) more than other Foods, so they are potentially eaten less often than alternatives.
Strategies
Increasing the range of Foods increases Well-Being. This affects the Factions differently.
- For the Folktails, this is all positive, as longer lifespans mean less kits in the population mix, producing a more productive population for the resources they consume.
- For the Iron Teeth, this can lead to unwanted population growth, so either:
- ensure there is surplus
Housing,
Water , and Food; or
- pause some
Breeding Pods.
- ensure there is surplus
